Description
The Resilient Computing and Cybersecurity Center (RC3) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is looking for several Computer Systems Specialists with strong documented experience and competence in one or more of the following specialties: systems engineering, software engineering, network engineering.
The successful candidates will be offered a multi-faceted and quite complete career track, by leading the set-up of the computing and networking infrastructure for the RC3 labs; overseeing local Information Technology systems; and participating to research and development activities.
Namely, they will be called to: set up, manage and enhance environments and frameworks to support the Center's activity, namely its dedicated computing and networking subsystems, local IT subsystems such as Web and shared repositories, SW systems and development platforms; support and be involved in the researchers' activities and projects, namely experiments, proof-of-concept prototypes and demonstrators.
Responsibilities
Supporting the ambitious project of establishing the RC3 common use lab, composed of two units: Distributed Cyber Physical Systems (DCPS) Lab Unit; Resilient and Cyber-Secure Cloud (RCSC) Lab Unit. Develop, procure, install, test, update, maintain, and upgrade the networking and computing assets. Assisting in solving failures and managingperformance and update issues. Implement the best practices, system and human level, for the dependable and secure operation of the Center’s systems and networks, protecting operations, data and communications, and ensuringavailability, robustness and usability. Documenting equipment and creating workflows and other process management tools for team members to follow.
Ensuring the efficient and effective operation of RC3 local IT subsystems such as Web and shared repositories, SW systems and development platforms. Defining, procuring, configuring, imoplementing and managing software solutions, in order to enhance the Center’s activity. Providing training and expert advice to users as needed. Ensuring alignment with IT policy standards. Assisting in the technical implementation of the digital communication plans and contents.

Qualifications
We welcome candidates with a Master’s or PhD degree in computer engineering or computer science or a related field.
We consider as an advantage: 4+ years of experience; general cybersecurity expertise; a mature understanding of the technological and business aspects of modern ICT systems; previous experience in academic or research environments.
We seek candidates who exhibit a strong documented experience and competence in one or more of the following specialties: systems engineering, software engineering, network engineering, cybersecurity (transversal).
